Grow Direct Business customers and markets
Identify and develop new OEM customers and new vertical markets to increase the sale of SSE products in the region.
Grow relationships in the assigned region with local locations of existing OEM customers and their partners by identifying products supplied in other regions and selling them locally.
Identify and develop new programs with existing customers and in served markets to increase SSE’s presence and penetration within those customers and markets.
Work to maintain direct customer and vertical market relationships by providing superior customer service and sales support.
Develop a Regional Sales Organization and team
Identify, sign, and develop qualified SSE distribution and sales representatives following the company’s policies of limited, strategic distribution and representation.
As the region develops sales growth, identify, hire and manage SSE direct sales team members
Assist and manage the regional sales team through product knowledge, communication and training.
Work with the sales team to provide customer quotes and prepare/negotiate sales contracts.
Work with sales team members to develop strategic business plans for marketing and selling SSE products and services.
Continual development and improvement of sales team through regular reviews of activities, sales, strategic plans, and customer analysis
Regular communication with SSE Headquarters to follow up on customer orders/issues/questions with Customer Service Representatives and department heads.
Confer or consult with department heads to plan upcoming projects and communicate customer specifications.
Represent company at trade shows, meetings and in key industry organizations to promote products and gain understanding as to industry initiatives.
Travel to customer locations regularly to conduct business, give training, provide customer service and represent the company in the sale of SSE products and services.
Travel to company headquarters as required for training, reviews, meetings, strategic planning activities, customer visits and other activities as assigned.
Regular communication with SSE Sales Management through weekly sales reports, daily telephone and E-mail communication as required, weekly telephone calls with Sales Management, and other reporting of activities as required.
Regular reporting of sales forecasts, market conditions, customer and market opportunities and issues, and other sales data as required.
College degree in Electrical Engineering required with some business related studies or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of technical sales experience in Industrial Automation with an emphasis in variable speed drive and motor control
Must be bilingual - able to read, write and speak English.
Must be able to represent SSE in a professional and confident manner at all times with customers, sales team members and internal personnel both over the telephone, utilizing written formats (including email) and in person.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information in a clear, concise manor.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both telephone and face-to-face communication with customers, team members, and internal personnel.
A strong understanding of power electronics including variable speed drives and motor technology and the application of this equipment.
An understanding of business and business principles to make good decisions regarding the investment of company time and resources in pursuit of sales growth.
Strong computer knowledge with abilities in basic PC tools including Microsoft Office, E-mail applications and other software required to successfully perform the job.
Organizational skills and abilities to manage an office including keeping accurate files, reports, financial records and contracts.
Ability to organize, plan and prioritize daily tasks and personal time management with minimal supervision
Ability to interact with people at various levels of both internal and external organizations and clearly communicate ideas, needs, concerns, issues, and expectations.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times with ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple demands.
Ability to take direction from management and be responsible for execution of tasks associated with that direction to completion
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible to continually increase company sales and profits by building and maintaining a customer base and a sales channel network throughout an assigned region. This includes working with and maintaining existing customer and channel relationships and developing new customers, markets, and channel team members.
